Garda and Surroundings
Garda
Garda is a charming village located 30 kilometers from Verona.
This jewel of the Veronese coast of Lake Garda, once known as Benàcus or Benàco, borders the municipalities of Bardolino, Torri del Benaco, and Costermano del Garda.
The name “Garda” comes from the Lombard term warda, meaning “guard” or “observation point,” a clear reference to the fortress built on the Rocca di Garda, the hill overlooking the town that once housed a castle and a church.
